Shmupland has participated in all editions of the Univision Song Contest, although ownership of the nation has changed hands. In the first edition, Notshmoopysomovealong (more commonly known as Shmoopy) used the nation to submit songs. As a user, Shmoopy chose not to return to the contest four months later. Instead, user gagnant took over for the succeeding editions, joining the contest through a nation that is not his. Shmupland did not do favorably in the first two editions of Univision, but in the third edition, received a third place result with Natural High and came fourth overall.
